Earlier in the summer I began my trip to Greece flying to corfu with my bestie Jaca. Every summer I usually visit the peloponnese on mainland Greece to see family and friends and for a summer break. The island of corfu is located North West of Greece and is only an hour trip to igoumenitsa (mainland) and an hour trip to Albania.
I've always wanted to visit Corfu for its historical architecture in particular. It is one of the few islands unaffected by the Ionian earthquake.
Our visit included bike trips around corfu Town, beach days, trips to museums, the old fortress, mouse island (of which we had a beautiful view of from our air bnb room) and my favourite, the Achillion Palace! I found using the audio guide (included in entry fee) to really bring everything to life, and helps you recognise the details. And why these details have been included.
The history and beautiful art, from sculptures to all the adorned walls, ceilings and paintings. There's so much inspiration to draw from this palace.
